I walk for hours through other-worldly landscapes, wondering about the peoples who have made this place their home. Expelled one hundred years ago, the now-extinct al-Maasac tribe spurned the wider Bedouin community's life-saving tradition of sheltering nomadic visitors. The al-Massac territories became taboo, their name a curse amongst desert wanderers.
